About James
I am the Head of Underwriting Standards and Governance. I joined Hiscox in February 2020 as a member of the Claims Operations and Governance team, moving into my current in January 2024. My team is responsible for the setting and monitoring of standards across all underwriting products distributed via our Lloyd’s platform. I have worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years, starting out as a Lloyd’s broker, before shortly crossing over to the managing agency side and working for two major Lloyd’s syndicates prior to management and operational roles at my previous company. I work closely with the Chief Underwriting Office and Chief Risk Officer to ensure we run a well governed operation that is empowered to run a large and complex book of business within Lloyd’s.
