About Joe
As the first FI-dedicated London Market underwriter at Hiscox, my role is to expand our FI offering beyond the current D&O-only focus. This involves building a comprehensive book of financial institution business across various products, including crime (often referred to as bankers blanket bond or BBB), professional indemnity (known as professional liability or errors and omissions insurance in North America), and D&O. These products can be written on a standalone or combined basis to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Additionally, we are integrating cyber liability into our offerings to provide seamless coverage, as a cyber act or incident has the potential to trigger crime, PI, and D&O.
In addition to my role at Hiscox, I am actively involved in industry organisations. I have been a member of the LMA’s FI forum for around ten years and the IUA’s Banks Underwriters Group (BUG) for a similar length of time. In 2021, I had the honour of chairing the BUG panel, where we discussed critical topics such as silent cyber coverage, ransomware issues, and the impact of COVID.
